Hi, I’m Mark Smallman

Work with a Codeable Expert

I joined the list of Codeable Qualified WordPress experts in February 2022. This was after completing their strict recruitment process, which took several months to get through the various stages.

Codeable recruit only the best of the best. Just 2% of all applicants successfully qualify, and complete the process to be accepted as one of their WordPress experts.

At the time of publishing this, I am currently the only Codeable expert within Northern Ireland & Ireland.

WordPress PHP Themes

Upon commencing his journey with WordPress in 2009, Mark swiftly delved into the platform’s intricacies, driven by an insatiable curiosity.

In 2011, taking his WordPress exploration to the next level, he ventured into constructing his own ‘starter theme’ anchored in Underscores and the Foundation Framework.

Marks current preference resides in crafting WordPress sites using block themes. This shift is primarily attributed to the notable advancements in site speed and the increased adaptability they provide for meeting his clients’ diverse requirements.

WordPress FSE Themes

WordPress FSE (Full Site Editing), or sometimes referred to as Block Themes, were introduced in Version 5.9, ‘Josephine’ in January 2022.

The main benefit of a FSE theme, is the additional control it gives to site owners & editors. The ability to have a closer representation within the editor, to how the site will look on the front end, is invaluable to any site owner.

WordPress FSE does not eliminate custom options, it makes them better, and easier to visualise.
